Our Trip to Gallipoli Battle Fields
on 9-10 April 2005 (page 3)

Then we drove south of Alcitepe toward the end of the Peninsula... on our road we passed the Redoubt cemetery and we stoped at Skewbridge cemetery to visit it… these are British cemeteries... in this one there were 477 dead British sailors out of which 129 are known and they have their graves there, and the others have their names carved on the walls of the cemetery...

Then we headed southwards to the Helles monument but the road was so crowded that we had turn again to the west where we we visited the Lancashire Landing Cemetery...

After the Lancashire Landing Cemetery we continued our road and we came to a coast that we climbed down to the sea shore… this side must have been the X-Beach… then we passed thru the Pink Farm cemetery and the 12 Tree cemetery and came back to Alcitepe… as we did a ring we headed once again southwards thru the same rode and reached the place where Helles monument and Yahya Cavus monument and cemetery resides... These are photos of the Helles Monument :

here you can see some details from the east wall of the Monument :

and here details from the south, west and north walls of the monument :

Then we walked to the Yahya Cavus monument and cemetery :

Here there was a very nice sea view... down the cliff at the sea shore there was the Beach cemetery of the French (I guess) and across on the next hill in the background we could see Sed-ul-bahir castle... here is a photo...
