Google Cloud Platform
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
is a cloud computing service by Google that offers hosting on the same supporting
infrastructure that Google uses internally for its own end-user products. Specifically,
Google Compute Engine (GCE)
is the Infrastructure as a Service
component of GCP that allows
users to launch their own virtual machines
on demand.
Google Cloud Platform also provides for a free, but temporary Compute Engine virtual machine instance with command-line access called Google Cloud Shell. More details about this are given in my Google Cloud Shell as a Desktop hint topic.
