User Configuration

NOTEFILE saves some configuration information (like the registered user name and key, recently used file names, and some Autodial-related data) in a personal storage location on your computer. This location depends on the operating system.

• On Windows, the Registry key \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\FedSoft\notefile is used.
• On Linux, the reg.xml file in the current user’s $HOME/.config/notefile/ directory is used.

If you no longer want to use NOTEFILE on your system (after deleting the NOTEFILE executable and its data files) you may also remove the locations mentioned above to clean up residual configuration data. See also Installation and Removal.
