Card Information... Command

Purpose

The Information command is used to display some basic information about the currently selected card.

To get information about the currently selected card

  1. Select the card you want to get information.
  2. If you want, you may select a portion of the text in the card.
  3. From the Card menu choose Information.... Information, such as, the full path of the file being edited, the length of the current card and the length of the selected text in the card if any, the creation and last update time of the file and the currently selected card, etc., will be displayed.

Notes:

  • The number of lines selected will include both the line where the selection begins and the line where the selection ends. For example, if you start the selection from the middle of a line and end it in the middle of the next line, the number of selected lines will be displayed as 2.
  • The number of characters in the selection or the card does not include any end of line characters.
  • The size of the selection or the card, however, includes the end of line characters (two for each end of line in Windows, but one in Linux).
  • The number of characters may be smaller than the number of bytes due to UTF-8 encoded characters. For example the string I♥U is 3 characters, but 5 bytes long.
