Encryption
NOTEFILE can save NTF files in encrypted form. TXT files cannot be encrypted. NOTEFILE uses a combination of standard and proprietary encryption methods that use the same password for both encryption and decryption. You can specify that you want to encrypt a file by giving a password in the File Setup... dialog box.
Because compression is performed before encryption, the risk of exposing statistical patterns is highly reduced, thereby improving overall data protection.
Note: Forgotten passwords may not be recovered and you will not be able to open an encrypted file, unless you provide the correct password. Please do not ask me to recover forgotten passwords. See also Troubleshooting.
